Did anyone catch Gladys' appearance this morning on the John Boy & Billy Big Show? She had their whole crew in stitches, and me and my teenage son as well. I can't remember when a "little old lady" cracked me up like that. Geez, I have to go back 35 years when a woman by the name of Moms Mobley (or Mabley) was doing TV appearances and making comedy albums. She was a toothless, elderly black woman with a goofball hat and a giant dress, and she was just about the funniest thing around. Since Gladys has her teeth, she's a bit easier to understand when she speaks. But God bless her! Gladys' wit and insights are so refreshing when there are so many comedians who rely entirely too much on foul language and topics to get laughs.
I hope you're going strong when your 188 years old, Gladys! You've got a new fan forever! Don't ever stop bringing smiles to everyone's faces. Lord knows it helps!!
Love ya, Kid!!
